For the past 18 years the Black Community in and around Toronto have been attending a service of Thanksgiving at an Anglican Church during Black History month. This year the service was held on Sunday February 24 at St.Paul's Anglican Church, and the Sermon was given by Archdeacon Peter Fenty, a Barbadian who has served in the Dioceses of Barbados, Montreal and Toronto. On April 6, 2013, an election was held for a new Bishop in the Toronto Area and Archdeacon Peter Fenty was elected.
