Simeon was born in Shorey Village St.Andrew Barbados, the first son of Robert and Mary Benjamin. Simeon was educated at St. Andrew's Boys school and the Alleyne School, Barbados He was a teacher at St. Simons Primary School where he taught Grade 1 for two years.

In 1962 The British Army went to Barbados to recruit some young men to serve in their forces and Simeon was one of the 460 men who answered the call for duty. He was attached to the Royal Engineers and completed his basic training at Aldershot.

After completing his training he was posted to 20 Field Squadron which was part of 36 Field Regiment Royal Engineers based in Maidstone Kent. His Regiment was deployed to Aden in the Suez Canal area, and he served there for one year. He completed tours of duty in Norway and Libya.

He started his training as an Electrician at the Army Technical College and completed them at Coventry Technical College, when he was discharged from the Army. He apprenticed with Lee Beesley Electrical Company, who was a Contractor for the car manufacturing plants Triumph Motors, Ford Motors, General Motors and Dunlop Tire Manufacturing Company and other manufacturing companies in Coventry.

In December 1965, Simeon married Leonora Alleyne at Holy Trinity Church in St. Philip Barbados. The next year she joined him in England. They have two sons David, who was born in Leicester and Stephen, was born in Enfield Middlesex.

In 1970 the family relocated to Barbados, where Simeon worked as an Electrician for the Barbados Water Works Department, and then he started his own business Robertson Electrical Services. Leonora worked as an Executive Secretary for the Caribbean Development Bank.

In 1975 Simeon was recruited by Supreme Aluminum Manufacturing Company to work as an Electrician, in their plant just outside Toronto. He arrived in February and was joined by his family in July after the school year ended. Leonora was recruited by the Ontario Civil Service and worked in many departments of the Ministry of Housing.

In 1977, Simeon attended Seneca College to upgrade his skills, and soon after that he joined Municipal Civic Service and worked for Metro Toronto and The City of Toronto for 31 years.

Simeon has been retired for the past three years, but he keeps busy volunteering in his Community, at his Church, as a member of Toastmasters International, and playing golf in the summer.

His three grand children Justin, Xavier and Brogan keep him busy as well.

One of his hobbies is Genealogy, he calls himself the "Family Archivist". He is always on the look out for family members, around the world.
